The weigh-in team\, utilizing our computer software\, will determine if your submission will place better in the slam division\, a single fish division\, or in the leopard red division. An individual angler can submit up to 4 fish – one of each species to enter the slam category and an additional redfish to enter the leopard red category. If an angler’s heaviest redfish is also a multi-spotted redfish\, that redfish can be used as best benefits the angler to put him/her in a position to win the biggest single prize for which he/she might be eligible. \nOTHER CATEGORIES: \nSENIOR CAJUN SLAM BONUS: The angler who is 65 years of age or older (on the day of the tournament) who catches the heaviest Cajun Slam wins a bonus prize. Kids fishing the Jr. Angler Division are permitted to ride and fish in a kayak with another angler\, however any fish caught must be kept separate or clearly and plainly marked so as to make them readily distinguishable from the other anglers catch. Simply put\, do not store all the fish in the same ice chest or ice bag unless they are placed on separate stringers or otherwise marked so that each angler can clearly identify his/her catch. Use of different colored zip-ties is a popular method of marking fish. \nPAYOUTS / PRIZES: \nCAJUN SLAM TOURNAMENT PAYOUT: $20 of each entry fee paid before the closing of online registration will be paid out to cash prizes. PFD’s must be worn outside of the angler’s outermost layer of clothing. Failure to comply with this rule during competition could result in disqualification from the tournament. Disqualification will be determined by the Tournament Director based on investigation of any specific incident. PFD’s may only be briefly removed on the water for the purpose of adding\, removing\, or adjusting clothing while an angler is stationary and not actively fishing. \nLEGAL TACKLE / BAIT: Artificial\, live and/or or dead bait is allowed. Scent infused baits such as Gulp\, etc… are legal. Scented dips\, dyes and sprays such as Bang attractant\, Pro-Cure\, Dip-n-Glo\, etc… are legal. Chum is allowed. If a bait or attractant is allowed by law\, then it is allowed in this tournament. All fish must be caught in a sporting manner using a rod and reel setup. Trolling\, and the use of up to 2 setups at a time is allowed. Trot lines\, jug lines\, traps\, etc. are not allowed. \nPADDLE / PEDAL-CRAFT ONLY: No trolling motors / sails / gas engines or “mother ships” other than the very limited exception noted below. Your pedal or paddle craft must be human powered unless you fit the requirements below. Contestants are allowed to wade fish or fish off of the bank but ONLY as long as the area you’re fishing is within 100’ of your LAUNCHED paddle craft. Launched means your kayak is partly in fishable water\, not a parking lot puddle. \nTROLLING MOTOR WAIVER: Individuals who meet the following requirements can be pre-approved for a trolling motor allowance in the tournament to compete with full rights and privileges of any competitor: Applicants must be 70 years old or older (on the day of the tournament). Applicants must use a trolling motor thrust power of 35 foot-pounds or less. Anglers must be pre-approved before the end of the captains meeting. Contact the tournament director to seek approval. He/she will consult with the board and a decision will be made as soon as is practical. \nWATER COURTESY: Do your best not to disturb someone else’s fishing area\, by encroachment\, or noise. If you come upon an angler in an egress area\, as quietly as you can\, ask which side he or she would like you to cross at. A good rule of thumb is that if you can both cast to a common point you’re too close. Respect others. Use the golden rule. Intentional interference with an angler’s activities is unlawful and can be grounds for disqualification. Do unto other as you would have them do unto you. \nPROTEST: All protests must be made in writing and delivered to a tournament official within 30 minutes of the weighing of the last fish entered. The tournament director is the final authority in all considerations. All anglers are encouraged to report cheating. \nPOLYGRAPH / CHEATING / FOUL PLAY: There will be zero tolerance. ANY entrant and/or prize category winner may be required to undergo polygraph examination either by random draw or by order of the board of directors. Any refusal to submit to polygraph testing will result in immediate disqualification from the tournament and potential suspension and/or banishment from participating in all future BCKFC tournaments. If requested\, a contestant must pass the polygraph exam to collect his/her prize(s). Prizes will not be awarded if any of the polygraph results indicate a participant’s reply or replies was/were deceptive OR “inconclusive.” There is no appeal process for those who do not pass the polygraph. Potential winners MUST remain available and sober for polygraph testing. \nRELEASE OF LIABILITY AND COVENANT NOT TO SUE: A waiver\, release of liability\, and covenant not to sue are part of the entry form. It is required that all contestants take responsibility for themselves while participating in event activities. Please DO NOT let your competitive nature push you into doing dangerous things. \nRULE CHANGES: Rules interpretation is exclusively left to the Tournament Directors and BCKFC Officers. The decisions of this group are final in all matters and are not subject to appeal. \nPARTICIPATION AND ELIGIBILITY: Participation is open to anyone 18 years of age or older. Minors are eligible to participate with a parent or legal guardian signature on the release form. All participants represent that they are physically and mentally competent and fit and able to participate. By entering\, all participants agree to assume all risks of personal injury\, death\, and damage to or loss of property and further agree to indemnify and hold BCFKC\, its officers\, members\, agents\, and sponsors harmless from and against any and all claims\, liabilities\, and causes of action resulting directly or indirectly from participation. \nREGISTRATION AND CAPTAINS MEETING: Late registrations will be accepted at the Captain’s Meeting on Friday including the $10 late fee. The captains meeting will be held at Bridge Side Marina in Grande Isle\, Louisiana. Attendance at the Captain’s Meeting is optional. At the meeting\, we will go over the rules\, boundaries\, restrictions\, and whatever concerns we feel should be addressed. Depending upon the availability of our wonderful volunteers\, you may also pick up your shirts and captain’s bags that night. Delicious pastalaya cooked by “The Little Rascals” will be served. Please join us for fun\, tall tales\, and festivities. \nENTRY FEES: $75 per person. EARLY entry fees include a tournament shirt as well as meals Friday and Saturday. Those who wait until later to register will NOT be guaranteed a shirt but we will TRY to accommodate you. Extra Shirts can be purchased when/where/if available. Additionally you can become a BCKFC member for $25 a year per person\, or $40 per family household. Please specify size of shirt at the time of registration. \nLEGAL FISHING TIME / BOUNDRIES: You may launch at any time but you must not make your first cast until 6:00 AM. You may fish any accessible waters on the LA1 corridor. You may not fish gated areas that other anglers cannot access. You may launch from a private camp\, etc… as long as other anglers can launch nearby (Within 0.5 miles of public launch) and reasonably access and fish the same area. \nSIGN IN / WEIGH IN: Weigh-in will be held from 3:00:00 PM until 4:00:00 PM on October 1st\, 2022 at Bridge Side Marina. DO NOT BE LATE! You MUST physically appear WITH YOUR FISH and be in line to sign in NO LATER THAN 4:00:00 PM as per cell phone time of the appointed time keeper. Proxy sign-ins are not allowed. Weigh-in will continue until all participants who signed in on time have had their catch weighed. Any fisherman in line to sign in at the weigh-in station before the 4:00:00 PM cut-off time on October 1st\, 2022 will be allowed to weigh their fish. At 4:00:01\, any entrant not in line to sign-in will be considered late and will not be allowed to weight their catch and will not qualify for any awards. REMINDER: In case of any tie\, the earliest sign-in time will be the tie breaker. The sign in / weigh in station will be operational starting at 3:00p.m. Sign-in closes promptly at 4:00p.m. Weigh-in will continue until all participants who signed in on time have had their catch weighed. Any fishermen in line to sign in at the weigh-in station by the 4p.m. cutoff time on October 1st\, 2022 will be allowed to weigh their fish. There will be no exceptions to this rule. Anglers are strongly urged not to wait until the last minute to sign-in for the weigh-in. \nOnly authorized persons will be allowed in the weigh-in station. Please try not to distract these volunteers while they go about their tasks. You will receive a weigh-in card when you check in at the sign in table. Once you receive your weigh card and have checked in\, you may proceed to the scales to have your catch weighed. Weighed / Entered fish may or may not be returned as per the weigh-master’s discretion. Fish that are submitted will be used in the fish fry dinner that evening. The largest fish will be determined by weight. In the event of a tie\, the first contestant to have signed in will be considered the winner while the other contestant will be dropped to the next position. \nFish will be bent\, loosened and manipulated before being measured with a pinched tail. Mouths of trout and flounder will be closed\, and tails of trout and flounder will be manually pinched to obtain maximum length as per the instructions found in the Louisiana Fishing Regulations\, 2022 pamphlet. Tails of larger redfish will be pinched using the standardized tool attached to the measuring board\, which\, if needed and used\, will be moved to the 26.5” line to pinch the tail of larger redfish. The tail of a redfish when pinched cannot touch or cross the 27″ line. \nLEGAL FISH: All competitors must check in with legal fish as per LDWF policy and regulations to be eligible for prizes. All fish submitted for weigh-in must be fresh and caught on the day of the tournament. The weigh master and weigh team will make decisions on accepting fish for weigh-in after consulting with available board members. These decisions are final. Any attempt to enter fraudulent catches\, exchange catches and/or tamper with catches\, or to hamper or threaten any official of the tournament will result in immediate disqualification and or prosecution when criminal fraud occurs. \nAll fish presented at time of weigh in must meet BCKFC tournament size requirements. Any fish presented to weigh-master that does not meet minimum/maximum size requirements will not be accepted as a tournament entry. A replacement fish will be allowed but has to be in your physical possession. You are not allowed to leave your position at the weigh table. If a second fish is presented and does not meet minimum/maximum tournament size requirements it will result in an immediate disqualification of the angler from the tournament. All gross negligence of the minimum/maximum tournament size limits will result in an immediate disqualification and the BCKFC weigh-master and Tournament Director will have final decision. Any attempt to enter fraudulent catch\, exchanging catches\, tampering with catch\, or to hamper or threaten any official of the tournament will result in immediate disqualification. Only authorized persons will be allowed in the sign-in and weigh-in stations. \nDRYING FISH: “Air drying” of fish or the tails of larger redfish is NOT allowed. All parts of all fish should be placed on ice and maintained for freshness. Fish will only be accepted for the weigh-in if they are in a cooler bag\, ice chest or other appropriate container that also contains ice. The entire fish should be in the container. Do not appear at the weigh-in with fish that are on a stringer and are not iced in a proper container or bag. \nDRONE/UAS USAGE: Tournament participants are not allowed to use unmanned aircraft systems (drones) during the tournament day to scout for fish\, spy on other anglers\, or any other means that may be viewed as benefiting/advancing their fishing. \nREFUNDS: There will be no refunds permitted. Should the event date change for any reason\, an announcement will be made and a refund grace period allowed for anglers who cannot make the new date. \nWEATHER: Tournament days may be shortened or canceled due to unsafe weather or water conditions. The decision to shorten or to cancel will be left totally to the discretion of the Tournament Director. A 4-hour period shall constitute a day of fishing. \n*** LINK TO PURCHASE ADDITIONAL TOURNAMENT SHORT SLEEVE T-SHIRTS AND LONG SLEEVE PERFORMANCE SHIRTS\n*** LINK TO PURCHASE RAFFLE TICKETS\n

SUMMARY:Trout Challenge
DESCRIPTION:CLICK HERE TO REGISTER\nEVENT INFORMATION AND OFFICIAL RULES\nBOUNDARIES: Anglers may launch at Bason’s Marina (Gator Cove) in Cutoff at the north end of Hwy1 or any area south of Bason’s on the Hwy 1 corridor. \nTIME: This tournament will take place on October 22\, 2022.  The official LAUNCH & LINES IN time is 6:00 AM. You may launch your kayak prior to 6:00 AM and stage in the immediate vicinity of the launch\, but DO NOT proceed forth or begin fishing UNTIL 6:00 AM. \nREMINDER: Be courteous\, DO NOT BLOCK LAUNCHES. \nAnglers must stop fishing at 2:00 PM. Any photos taken after 2:00PM will be rejected. \nOBJECT: The longest total length of up to 5 Speckled Trout (12” or larger) will win. A speckled trout picture submitted to the TourneyX PRO App will be judged by one or more individuals assigned to the job by the tournament directors. In the event of a tie\, the angler with the longest fish will place higher. If the first fish does not break the tie\, the anglers next largest fish will be used\, and so on down their list of submissions. In the event that the anglers are still tied\, then the angler who submitted their final fish used in their stringer will win. \nApproved Measuring Devices: The Ketch Board\, and Check-it Stik Kayak Elite Series boards are the two approved measuring devices for this tournament. They are expected to be clean and all lines clearly visible to the judges who view pictures. \nPhoto Submission Information / Rules: “TourneyX Pro” is the official app and tournament scoring method for Trout Challenge. It is available for Apple iOS and Android operating system smartphones. Make sure to download the PRO version as it is the only one that works. \nThe tournament token will be released on the TourneyX PRO app at 8pm on Friday\, October 21st. The following photo submission rules are as follows: \n● Photo submissions may be submitted from 6:00 am until 2:30pm (although photos taken after 2:00 pm will not count).  YOU MUST BE PRESENT AT THE AWARD CEREMONY TO WIN. The award ceremony will follow immediately after at 3:00 pm under the pavilion by the Golden Meadow Public Launch. \n● The live leaderboard will be turned off during the entirety of this event. \n● The entire fish must be on a tournament approved measuring device and the body centered between the rails. Additionally\, the fish must be alive at the time of the photo being taken. \n● The trout must be facing to the left with the tail to the right and the belly of the fish facing the angler. \n● Trout must be submitted at 0.25” incremental measurements. \n● If the tail is not obviously touching or crossing a measurement line\, it will be rounded down to the next lower quarter inch length. \n● The nose must be pressed up against the post of the measuring device with mouth CLOSED COMPLETELY. If the mouth is open at all\, the angler will face a 0.5” length deduction \n● There may be no lures or fish retaining tools in the fish’s mouth for the picture or the angler will face a 0.5” length reduction which may be inclusive or in addition to the open mouth penalty at the judge’s discretion. \n● The top lobe of the tail must be on the flat part of the board and over the measurement marking lines on the flat portion of the board. Pinching of the tail is not permitted. \n● The mouth\, eye\, and tail must be fully visible for the picture to be accepted\, with the tail flat on the measuring board. Only the angler’s hand may obscure the body of the fish to hold the fish down.  The angler is NOT allowed to hold the tail of the fish in place. \n● The picture must be taken overhead and not at an extreme angle. \n● Pictures will only be accepted if they include original metadata which contains GPS coordinates. \nNote: Assigned judges will NOT have access to metadata information. Only the BCKFC Officers assigned tournament director will have access to this information. The only situation in which it will be viewed is if a valid location based protest is submitted to the tournament directors or there is a genuine suspicion that the angler was not fishing within the legal boundaries. \n● The tournament token must be visible in the picture (written on a card or the back of your hand). If written on a card\, it may be placed on the back of your hand\, or next to the fish\, BUT not on the fish. \n● If the judge deems your picture to be inauthentic or otherwise too problematic to accept\, it will be rejected. Appeals may be made to the tournament director as described above in the protests section. \n● Following completion of the tournament and awards ceremony\, anglers may make a formal written request that their entry is deleted from TourneyX to the tournament directors. Doing so will delete all of the fish pictures\, metadata\, GPS\, and statistics from the angler’s TourneyX account. This means these pictures/metadata/GPS will no longer be accessible to anyone including the tournament directors. This is a permanent irreversible decision. Making this request will not disqualify the angler from qualifying for awards in the tournament. \nANGLER OF THE YEAR / CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFICATION: The top 15 anglers on the leaderboard of Trout Challenge are eligible for qualification to the BCKFC Championship in November. To fully qualify\, an angler must also have an additional paid entry to one of the other 3 qualification tournaments and be a paid club member in good standing with BCKFC. \nPoints are awarded for Angler of the Year at each tournament with 1st receiving 300 points\, 2nd receiving 299 points\, 3rd receiving 298 points\, and so on down the line. To receive points\, an angler must weigh in at least a single legal fish and be a BCKFC member in good standing. The Angler of the Year points total represents the 4 qualifying tournaments plus the BCKFC Championship\, less a drop of the worst placing tournament for each individual angler. \nAt the end of all 4 qualifying tournaments\, at least the top 2 anglers in angler of the year points (who had not qualified on the podium) will gain entry to the championship via wildcard. If there are still less than 40 anglers qualified for the championship after the initial 2 wildcards are earned\, up to 3 more wildcard places may be awarded to the next highest Angler of the Year points earners (who had not qualified on the podium) so that a minimum of 40 anglers qualify for the championship. \nENTRY FEES: The entry fee is $50 per participant. \n$27 of each entry is paid out to the winners. \n$5 of each entry is paid out to the big trout winner. \n$10 of each entry is held for the Championship Event. \n$8 of each entry covers TourneyX platform and PayPal processing fees. \n100% of the event purse is split to pay out the individual awards. \n1-30 Paid Entries = Three (3) places paid out \n31-50 Paid Entries = Four (4) places paid out \n51-75 Paid Entries = Five (5) places paid out \n76-100 Paid Entries = Six (6) places paid out \n101+ Paid Entries = Seven (7) places paid out \nMinimum payout = $50 with cash differentials provided by BCKFC. \nMULE TROUT: Every angler who registers for the tournament will be automatically entered into the the MULE TROUT category. Winner is determined by the longest submitted trout.  Winner takes all.  If there is a tie for longest trout\, the angler who presented that trout earlier in the day will win. \nYOUTH DIVISION: There is a FREE youth division for anglers who are 12 years of age or younger. Enter by sending an email or a private message on the forum to any of the club officers. Youths compete for a prize valued at $50 (minimum) and do not compete against anglers who paid full entry fees. \nPADDLE/PEDAL CRAFT ONLY: This event allows human powered craft only. Trolling motors\, sails\, gas engines\, and “mother ships\,” are not allowed. Your pedal or paddle craft must be human powered and includes tandem kayaks\, canoes\, pirogues\, and paddleboards. A participant is allowed to wade fish or fish from the bank but ONLY if they remain within 100’ of their LAUNCHED paddle craft. Launched is defined as your paddle/pedal craft being off of your vehicle/trailer and that a portion of the craft is in fishable waters. \nPRIVATE LAUNCHES & PRIVATE FISHING AREAS: Only publicly available launch locations are permitted. \nCombat launches are allowed so long as all anglers have the legal right to launch from that location. Fishing behind gated areas of the marsh is not allowed unless the angler has arranged for all other participants to also fish the area that day AND has made that possibility known to all by posting appropriate information on our forums at least one week in advance. \nWATER COURTESY / ENCROACHMENT: Do your best not to disturb someone else’s fishing area\, by encroachment\, or noise. An angler officially establishes his/her fishing area by having their craft anchored in place. If you come upon an angler in an egress area\, as quietly as you can\, ask which side he or she would like you to cross at. A good rule of thumb is that if you can both cast to a common point you’re too close. \nRespect others and use the golden rule. \nPROTESTS: All protests must be written and submitted electronically by 3pm to be considered. The tournament director is the final authority on deciding the merits/outcomes of a protest. \nCHEATING/FOUL PLAY: All anglers are encouraged to report violations. Cheating and contest fraud in a fishing tournament is a crime in the state of Louisiana. BCKFC will enforce a zero tolerance policy with regard to cheating. \nPOLYGRAPH EXAMINATION: All participants\, by signing up\, agree to take a polygraph examination if requested. Any participant can be asked to submit to a polygraph examination. No explanation shall be required from the hosts of the tournament as to why a specific individual is asked to submit to a polygraph examination. Refusal to submit to or failure of a polygraph examination will result in disqualification from the tournament\, forfeiture of any and all prizes / awards\, and potential banishment from all future BCKFC events. No refunds for tournament fees will be granted for person(s) refusing to submit to or failing a polygraph examination. You must agree to the Waiver to participate. The Waiver is in the online registration page linked below. BE SAFE\, BE SEEN\, AND WEAR YOUR PFD! \nDEPTH FINDERS: Depth finders / fish finders are allowed. \nBAITS: Only artificial baits are allowed. Commercially produced scented baits and attractants are also allowed. \nCOMMUNICATION: Cell or electronic communication “to and from” non-tournament anglers during tournament hours will not be allowed except if it is not fishing related (Example: your wife\, work\, etc.). \nPFD REQUIREMENT: You must properly wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved PFD while afloat in your watercraft during all BCKFC events. Failure to comply with this rule during competition could result in disqualification from the tournament. Disqualification will be determined by the Tournament Director based on investigation of any specific incident. \nRULE CHANGES: Interpretation of rules is exclusively left to the Tournament Directors and BCKFC Officers. \nThe decisions of this group are final in all matters and are not subject to appeal. Please do your part in not providing a reason to place them in a position where they must make rulings\, decisions\, etc. Keep it simple\, keep it clean\, and when in doubt…do the right thing. \nPARTICIPATION AND ELIGIBILITY: Participation is open to anyone 18 years of age or older. Minors are eligible to participate with a parent or legal guardian. That parent or guardian\, not BCKFC\, is responsible for the safety and well-being of that minor. All participants represent that they are physically and mentally competent and fit and able to participate. By entering\, all participants agree to assume ALL risks of personal injury\, death\, and damage to or loss of property and further agree to indemnify and hold BCFKC\, its officers\, members\, agents\, and sponsors harmless from and against any and all claims\, liabilities\, and causes of action \nresulting directly or indirectly from participation. \nLEGAL FISH: \nEach participant must catch their own fish. You may not give fish to another participant. You may not net a fish for another (adult) participant. Youths should hook and retrieve their own catch. A parent/guardian may net fish for them and may handle the fish once it is netted. \nDRONE/UAS USAGE: Tournament participants are not allowed to use unmanned aircraft systems (drones) during the tournament day to scout for fish\, spy on other anglers\, or any other means that may be viewed as benefiting/advancing their fishing. \nCLICK HERE TO REGISTER
