The Trout Challenge is the second qualifying event of the Championship tournament series. This year’s event will be held on March 9, 2019 and the boundaries include all of St. Bernard Parish. Last Stop Food Mart has invited us back and offered to be the host and weigh-in location for this event. Anglers must try to locate hungry speckled trout that are transitioning from their inland winter refuges back to their coastal summer habitat. This March event rewards the angler with the heaviest stringer of ten speckled trout. This time of year can be fun to fish and is a time when most anglers in Louisiana are pulling out all of their fishing gear and gearing up for spring fishing. But for those in the know, “The Parish” in the Spring can be the perfect setting for a trout throw down.
